My favorite Maria songs!

I love my wife for many reasons, and one of the most fun things about being married to a woman whose name happens to be one of the most common in the world is how many songs there are to sing about her! :) Although she hates a majority of them, it behooves me to create my very first listicle featuring my favorite Maria songs!

Ave Maria - Luciano Pavarotti

I mean, this is a classic, right? Even though it's mostly about the virgin Mary, and I have no idea what they're singing, it's beautiful and it has my wife's name. Still counts.

Maria - Green Day

Ok this was legitimately one of my actual favorite songs before I even met my wife, and it's still fun to sing. Singing the phrase "Mariiiiiaaaaa where did you go?" as loudly as possible in around the house or occasionally in public spaces is pretty satisfying. :)

Dear Maria Count Me In - All Time Low

In theme with angsty high school comes this song by All Time Low. I never really listened to these guys, but I had *cough* friends who did and loved this song. Anyway, it's fun to sing the chorus of this one even if the rest of the song is slightly depressing. 

How do you solve a problem like Maria? - Sound Of Music

Apparently this song plagued my wife all through elementary school, and I'm sure it does pretty much anyone named who's named Maria. But at least the character Maria that Julie Andrews plays is pretty cool, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

Maria - West Side Story

Another musical classic from West Side Story. This list wouldn't be complete without it. Apparently my wife had a friend in college that was a professional singer that would belt this out every time he ran into her on campus, haha.

Hey Maria - Klangkarussell

Hey Mah-ree-ah!! I found this song just recently and it's pretty much my new jam. It's got a sweet beat, and I really like how many remixes this thing has gotten already. Much wow. So hip.

My Maria - Brooks and Dunn

And for my personal all-time favorite Maria song! This is also such a classic song, and I remember singing along with it on the radio as a kid. It also happens to be my Maria's favorite Maria song, so that's a plus too. Even though I'll never be able to reach those high notes doesn't mean I won't try every time this song comes on. :)
